Regional Airports are becoming increasingly important to New Zealand’s Transportation Network, servicing the burgeoning Tourism and Business Sectors. Tourism and Local Air Transport is set to become even more critical to New Zealand’s growth over the next decade and New Zealand Local Authorities are looking for consultants who both understand the local environment and yet have proven expertise to deliver practical airport redevelopment solutions. Southland District Council engaged Projenz in 2005, to Project Manage and provide all the Professional Services for the redevelopment of Te Anau Airport - Manapouri. Over the last two years, Projenz have planned and managed the effective implementation and solutions for this redevelopment, with sealed runways, hanger sites, a public terminal, parking and all the infrastructure and facilities to cater for aircraft up to Boeing 737’s or Airbus 320’s (130 – 150 seats) as well as regular ATR 72 (70 seats) flights.
