Projenz are commissioned to deliver the overall project management of the new centre proposed at Tapanui. The facility is a $6M new building (1400m2) that includes a 14 bed rest home capability. Triage and emergency services (including helicopter pad) as well as district health and GP services, and training facilities have been catered for. Our brief included carrying out the planning and regulatory investigations to apply for Resource consent, topographic survey to enable design, liaison with TNZ for access, assisting with a review of other similar facilities at Dunstan hospital and Roxburgh, facilitating a draft footprint design following initial concepts by the architect, investigations into funding streams from University of Otago for student placements, and DHB, compilation of feasibility level project estimates and 10 year business model incorporating research on demographics and demand throughout Otago, liaison with Clutha District Council and Trust Directors for funding model and rating over the District.
Demolition consents were also arranged and procurement of contract for removal of existing derelict structures.
