Walking & Cycling Strategy
Rodney District Council | Print Friendly Version

Projenz are focused on delivering a range of solutions to Rodney District Council, from road network management, to helping them achieve select provisions of their Long Term Council Community Plan (2006-2009).  Solutions  such as the Walking and Cycling for Sustainable Transport Strategy.

Projenz were engaged by Rodney District Council to prepare a Walking and Cycling for Sustainable Transport Strategy (WCfST) and the Action Plans.  These were recently adopted by Council for public consultation, with the primary aims of encouraging walking and cycling to schools and workplaces safely, as an alternative transport mode to motor vehicles. The Council plans to invest an average of $1M annually over the next 20 years implementing the WCfST.  Implementation will include the construction of up to 6 km of walkways/cycleways annually.

Projenz is also involved with the delivery of the Strategy objectives, including: transport planning; scheme assessment reports, investigation, survey, urban design of walking and cycling networks and supporting facilities; consultation with the community’s stakeholders, and project management of the infrastructure construction.
