Projenz were initially engaged to produce a report on how Council could best transition from the previous consultant engagement structure through to a recommended format that focused on rationalising who was best to complete the myriad of network and asset management tasks. Areas that were also considered were the stage that Council was at with internal staffing and the level of asset management intelligence that was available at the time through the respective parties. The engagement then proceeded to where Callum Wood was appointed Acting Transportation Manager for QLDC on a 3 day per week secondment. Callum carried out this role for 8 months and was a part of the management team that produced the expression of interest for Council to change its procurement methodology for maintenance and capital projects.
Callum continues to project manage a number of transportation projects including two of the three major transportation studies. These are:
Inner Queenstown Transportation Study and Microsimulation Modeling (External)
Wanaka Transportation Study and Parking Strategy (External)
Both of these key studies are integral to the infrastructure development of the region and have significant urban design and consultation components. As the Council representative, Callum and Projenz have had the lead role in coordinating a large team of consultants, planners, modelers, urban designers and at all times liaising with and keeping the Community Boards and Elected Members informed.
