Walking & Cycling Strategy |
Projenz are focused on delivering a range of solutions to Auckland Transport, from road network management, to helping them achieve select provisions of their Long Term Council Community Plans. Solutions such as the Walking and Cycling for Sustainable Transport Strategies. Projenz were engaged by the former Rodney District Council to prepare a Walking and Cycling for Sustainable Transport Strategy (WCfST) and the Action Plans. These were adopted by Council for public consultation, with the primary aims of encouraging walking and cycling to schools and workplaces safely, as an alternative transport mode to motor vehicles. Auckland Transportl plans to invest an average of $1M annually over the next 20 years implementing the WCfST. Implementation will include the construction of up to 6 km of walkways/cycleways annually. Projenz is also involved with the delivery of the Strategy objectives, including: transport planning; scheme assessment reports, investigation, survey, urban design of walking and cycling networks and supporting facilities; consultation with the community’s stakeholders, and project management of the infrastructure construction.
